What are you planning? We’d love to talk to you about it!

Hurricane Hill provides an affordable, no-frills space for everything from meditation retreats and classes in sustainability to corporate retreats and small musical performances but PLEASE NOTE we make our farm available for only four weddings a year (so book early!). This is in order to respect our neighbors and to steer clear of the “industry.” This also means that we are dedicated to making those events special for you: we will be on farm the entire time you are and we will provide whatever support we can in whatever way we can. Both of us have design backgrounds and we know how to throw a good event. That said, we are not party planners or miracle workers; We encourage even the most DIY celebrants to work with others to ensure the best outcomes possible. Finally, Hurricane Hill is a working farm. If you are looking for a Martha Stewart experience, please call her directly, we hear she does good things.

I) THE BARN:

This is a 2,000 square foot space: a modern heated and fully powered barn-but with true farmhouse style. Huge sliding barn doors open onto a wide green space surrounded by native plantings and the east-facing french doors lead to a seasonable vegetable, berry and herb garden with a large fire pit and seating. The green space is perfect for the addition of a tent or other outdoor gathering spot. The barn is accessible via private entrance at 686 Natick Avenue. Overflow parking is handled in a nearby field.

PRICING:

 Weddings and other Special Celebration Events or Gatherings:

 1) Weekend Wedding Package: $3,900 (12 PM Fri -5 PM Sun) *

 2) Weekday Special Events (M-Th): $1,500 12 PM-12 PM the following day

 Regular events (retreats, classes, workshops, small gatherings, etc.):

1) Weekday (M-Th): $300 per hour, 2-hour minimum

2) Weekend (F, Sa, Su) events: $400 per hour, 3-hour minimum

 Notes:

payments are expressly accepted as donations to the farm’s mission and while they are not tax-deductible, they are gratefully acknowledged by us as a means towards continuing our work of rare breed preservation, land conservation and education around small farms in the modern world.

holiday weekends/local graduations weekends, etc may remove availability for day-only rates

lower rates for non-profits in the arts, food and farming sectors are at owners’ discretion.

“Special Celebration” refers to events that will require outside vendors - and more of our time. We reserve the right to categorize your event based on your description.

* This package is intended for very special events and includes full access to the farm for the entire weekend. This includes the event space and our 4-bedroom, 2-bath farmstay cottage and, if between mid-May and mid October, our vintage Ace camper/trailer (sleeps 2). We offer generous set-up and break-down time that is included in our flat rate.

** OUR GUEST LIMIT is 92 if interior only, the use of a tent allows additional guests (per state fire regulations). For larger parties, the need for an additional parking field may result in a small surcharge if our field would not typically be mowed at that time of year and/or if your guest number or will require additional farmer time. We will be very clear about this during our consultation-every event is different!

OTHER LIMITS: We are strict about being good neighbors and abiding by local regulations. Music must end by ten PM, no exceptions.

Other things to be aware of :

Our barn does not have restroom facilities so most you will need to plan to rent portable restrooms. During out high season (mid-May to mid-October) we can provide one ‘regular’ portajohn (an additional cleaning may be required for your event). During the off-season, we do not provide a portajohn, so you would need to provide. We also only have running water in warm weather so your caterer must be self-sufficient. While these are not uncommon elements of barn weddings, we want to point them out in advance.

You will need to take out an event insurance policy-these are quite affordable and important to protect you and us!

The thing we most want you to know is that we will work with you to find just the right fit for your event-our goal is always to manage a low stress and affordable event space in an otherwise complex market.

included in all barn rentals:

50x-back farm chairs, 4 8 ft long folding tables, miscellaneous small tables and other furniture that are part of the barn’s decor. We have one mobile bar and one long cedar table (see image).

 Additional amenities:

a collection of décor items (galvanized tubs and buckets, outdoor string lights, chalkboard signs, wooden crates and other items are included in all rentals.

 The fine print:

While we do not have a limited, required list of vendors (with one exception, see below), we are extremely dedicated to our local community so we make every effort to work with preferred vendors who, like us, support local agriculture and small businesses. The one exception is that for restroom rental, we work only with Hallman. No mater whom you use as your other vendor/s, we will require copies of all licenses and necessary permits to be submitted prior to your event.

The Big Print:

We retain the right to turn away any individual, organization or group that supports ideology that runs counter to our belief in a just, free, equal and diverse society. No exceptions.
